The summer can be a great time to have fun but at the same time the heat can wreck havoc on your body. It’s important to keep yourself safe from the sun while you enjoy the sunshine. So here are a few tips on how to keep yourself safe from the heat this summer:
1. Rehydrate: You lose a lot of water from your body when you sweat and this can lead to dehydration. So keep having plenty of water and juices throughout the day to keep your hydration levels up.
2. Dress light: Clingy and thick materials not only feel uncomfortable during summer by can lead to rashes in areas where they fit too tight. Wear light and loose cotton clothes to feel fresh all day long.
3. Avoid the sun: Direct sunlight exposes your skin to harmful UV rays that can cause severe damage. Try to stay in a shade when you are and wear a sun block that provides protection of over 20 SPF. Avoid going out around noon time as sunlight is at its fiercest at this time.
4. Tone down make up: Heavy make up on your face will not let your skin breathe during summers which may lead to acne and pimple outbreaks. Keep your skin free from make up and you will feel much lighter.
5. Continue Working Out: Just because its hot doesn’t mean you give your exercises! Work out indoors instead. Going for a jog or walk in the morning or evening when sunlight is dim can also be refreshing.
6. Say no to tans: While tanning is considered to be very trendy, it is believed to be a major cause of skin cancer among young women. If you absolutely need a tan, go for a self tan!
7. Shower: Even if you don’t soap your body or shampoo your hair each time, shower at least twice daily to wash off sweat deposits from your skin.
