When you’re trying to lose weight, you’re likely watching your calories, exercising, and being very cautious of what you put in your mouth and when. 1. Take a multivitamin: Often when we are trying to lose weight, some foods are eliminated from our diets. You’ll want to take a multivitamin on a daily basis to make sure all the basics are covered.

2. Eat a variety of food: Make sure you don’t eliminate one food group completely. You need a healthy balance of grains, protein (including meat) and dairy.

5. Don’t forget the carbs: You need about 55% of your daily caloric intake to be from carbs. They are not bad foods; you actually need them for energy. Remember, not all carbs are created equal. Choose whole grains over processed carbs.

6. Drink lots of fluids: You’ll want to stay hydrated, especially if you are exercising a lot. Be sure to drink a lot of water. Don’t load up on high calorie drinks. Water is exactly what you need.
