Millions of people the world over are fighting a losing battle with weight gain. After putting on several pounds and not being able to fit into their regular pair of jeans, they rush to get gym members or buy fitness equipment while going on intensive diets only to slip at very basic levels. Here are some tips that you can follow to make sure you don’t relapse after putting in all that effort to lose weight!
1. Don’t stay hungry in an attempt to lose weight. You may just end up eating a whole lot more when you do have your meal. Instead, have about 5 small meals spread throughout the day so your hunger remains in control.
2. If you have a habit of snacking there are probably several oily foods like chips or other fattening stuff like chocolates and ice creams stacked at home. Get rid of all foods that you know have a high calorie count and replace them with low fat, low carbohydrate foods.
3. Instead of consuming red meats, consume lean meat like fish and poultry. These have a lower fat and cholesterol content than red meats and will satiate your appetite too.
4. Have lots and lots of water. You may be mixing up your thirst with your hunger so have water first and if the hunger persists then have low calorie food.
5. Have a glass of juice just before you have your meal as this will help you limit your food intake. However, make sure you don’t add sugar to your juice. If you can’t do without a sweetener, then use honey instead of sugar, it is a healthier choice.
6. Consume lots of raw vegetables and fruits. You can replace the snacks you have in between meals with servings of fruit or have a fresh garden salad before a meal. Make sure your salad dressing is not high calorie as his would simply defeat the purpose!
