Everyone typically wants to have good nutrition and eat the right things but it can be hard when you are on a cruise ship and can try out so many things that you may not have tried before. However, there are ways to stay on the road to good nutrition while still getting to sample delicious food on the ship.
All cruise ships have menu fare that includes low sodium or diet foods. You can choose from that menu and still enjoy wonderful items such as grilled fish, vegetables and food that is good for you. This doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge one of the days when you are on vacation or try the dessert one night. It simply means that there are choices for you to make and you won’t be missing out on any of the tasty food you want to try. Take one day of your vacation and indulge while keeping to your diet the rest of the week. If you plan to indulge on short at the ports of call then use your time on the ship to enjoy other aspects of your trip without overeating.
The problem with cruise ships is that there are so many opportunities to eat. There are usually ways to get food 24 hours a day. From buffets to bistros and room service, there are too many ways to eat yourself into oblivion. However, with a little self control you can still enjoy the unique service without blowing your nutrition too badly. If you do feel that you want to try some of the good stuff every day then do that for one meal; preferably your first meal of the day so that you have the rest of the day to work off the extra calories. Spend the rest of your day eating sensibly so that you don’t feel too bad about that one extravagant meal.
