In the realm of dieting, the only diets that work are the ones that require creating some good habits and making permanent changes to your lifestyle. Just like eating any meal, give changes to your diet time to digest by taking in change in bite-sized pieces.
Match Your Diet to Your Activities
If active is generally not a word you would consider using to describe yourself at all, you don’t need as much carbs and fats as someone who is as active as a Marine in boot camp.
Embrace Diversity
Avoid food discrimination by allowing almost any type of food on your plate. You don’t have to eat everything like liver, and you can include things like chocolate, but being diverse keeps everything you eat, including the sweets, in moderation.
Give Your Body What it Really Wants
Drink water when you are thirsty, and if you have a taste for a sugary soda, then allow yourself to have one as a snack. A lot of times the body craves what it needs, and sometimes it’s all too easy to replace that need with something more convenient. How many times have you had a slight craving for a good home cooked meal and for whatever reason you found yourself getting fast food instead?
Sometimes it’s not What you eat, but how you Cook It
A burger off the grill is less greasy than one fried in a skillet, and French Fries can be just as crispy baked as they are fried. If you find yourself hating a certain food, maybe the problem isn’t the food as much as the recipe. You don’t have to add a bunch of calories and fats to make food taste better. Experiment with different recipes and methods until you find something that satisfies the royal taste buds.
